Song In My Heart

I have a song in my heart

I have had it there since you passed away

The song in my heart is here to stay

I will never forget standing at the front of you

You lay there with a sound of silence of gloom

I could not stand it that night

I not only was mourning you

My heart starting singing with delight.

You see,

My father did not want any music

So, I ask him many times

To have someone sing “ Amazing Grace“,

“The Old Rugged Cross’’

As friends visited at the Funeral Home

He said

“It was not going to be that way’’

The pastor will say a few words at you graveside

The next day

I can not believe you really wanted it that way

You sang so beautiful

I heard you sing and was so proud of you that way.

If I could have sang myself

I would have sang at your graveside that day

“In The Garden”,

“Old Rugged Cross’’

But, I looked Up and suddenly

I felt a song in my heart

I did not know which song

It was a beautiful song of love and gratitude

For the loving Mother you had been to me

I just did not understand this

May be it helped him make it easier to except you passing away

Is here to Stay, My Mother , My Friend

I will love and cherish your memory until the end.
